Storm Response Strategies

Responding to a storm starts early for the management team at American Snow & Ice, with a constant scan of developing weather situation.

With today‘s increased prevalence and sophistication of weather monitoring services and television broadcasts, storm information has never been more accessible. When winter storms are predicted for the area, we make sure all equipment is operational and all Crews are put on standby and made aware of the potential storm.

We divide the area up into several Zones, each assigned a Zone Manager. Hours before the first signs of snow or ice, the Zone Managers along with the advice of the weather watchers start monitoring the weather and assembling the crews.

Depending on the severity of the expected storm, zone managers decide how much equipment and personnel to activate in a given area.

Once crews and equipment are deployed the entire operation is tracked by our state of the art dispatch control center.

American Snow & Ice uses custom designed software which tracks each individual crew, their contact information and their availability. We can tell you what crew was at what location and for how long.

Responding to a storm can be a fairly simple process when you plan in advance, monitor the weather and create a system.

All of these systems enable us to have the quickest storm response time in America.
